How did you hear about Forme?
Through my friend George, who posted about FORME on Instagram.
What motivated you to participate in the FORME Transformation Challenge?
I joined FORME in December and that’s when Chris told me about the Challenge. It sounded like an awesome opportunity to push myself and kickstart my 2018, so I signed up before heading home for Christmas, so I knew I was committed when I came back. It was also my birthday at the end of January and I wanted to feel like I was in action this year and the Challenge seemed like the perfect fit!
What was the toughest part of the challenge?
Having to come workout on days when I was still super sore from the previous workout. But the funny thing was, I’d be sore walking down the steps into the gym, but then I’d start running in the warm up and my body would forget (temporarily, of course) that I was hurting. Going in, I thought the meal plan was going to be the hardest part but it wasn’t hard at all, I really enjoyed the food! And I never once felt hungry, it’s was actually the opposite, I could only get 3 meals a day in, max.
What kept you going?
I realized shortly after starting the challenge that my new workout routine was effecting so much more than just my physical fitness. I became a more productive person overall, accomplishing way more in my daily life than I had before. Going to sleep at night knowing how much I’d gotten done that day was an awesome feeling!! So that was a great motivator, and then seeing the physical changes start to happen too, of course!
How did the challenge TransFORME you?
Well I knocked off a ton of weight, first of all! I don’t think I’ve been 185 lbs since I was in my late teens, and I know for a fact I’ve never been this fit before in my life. I spent years wanting to lose weight, but always doing it half-assed, so I never saw the results I wanted. If you’d told me I was going to lose 36 lbs of fat in 8 weeks before, I would have laughed in your face, but now that I’ve done it, I know that it’s actually totally achievable and that I can continue to push myself even further!!
If you had a piece of advice to give someone who might be wanting to transform their lives, what would it be?
Do the challenge!! And really commit to it – it’s the best gift I ever gave myself. At the end of the 8th week (before finding out who won), I thought to myself, even if I don’t win, I’ve still actually won because I’m feeling better about myself, both inside and out, than I have in forever and that is huge!!
